GVA opens doors to state-of-the-art headquarters in heart of City
London-based staff at GVA, one of the UK's leading commercial property advisers, were starting work at their new hi-tech office space at 65 Gresham in the heart of the City of London today, following the completion of the extensive refurbishment and fit-out of the former Morgan Stanley trading floor.
Spread over two storeys and comprising almost 50,000 sq ft of space, the mix of open-plan desks and a variety of innovative collaboration spaces is designed to encourage cross-team working, adequately reflecting the company’s ambitions as a multi-service professional consultancy with cross-border capabilities and international outlook as part of the Bilfinger group.
The space places emphasis on flexible working and also aims for excellence in sustainability – including targeting a top Ska Rating, which is the RICS benchmark for sustainable fit-out.
The move coincides with Jason Sibthorpe, Senior Director and national head of Retail, stepping up to take over as head of GVA's combined London business. He assumed the role of Regional Senior Director for London, effective as of 1 January 2015, taking over from Patrick Morrissey, who took up a new role as Chairman of GVA Worldwide at the end of 2014, and Tony Joyce, formerly head of the London City Office, who continues with GVA in an expanded role focusing on business development.
Jason Sibthorpe comments: "On so many levels this is an exciting time for our business. We are now a truly integrated European real estate advisory business with a market-leading presence in both London and the regions, and our new London headquarters certainly reflect this.
"There has understandably been a great deal of anticipation from our teams over the past few months, as the consultation process on how we were going to shape the new space unfolded and the fit-out has progressed, and the end result is a truly inspirational workplace that is genuinely conducive to delivering our best work for clients and colleagues."
Over the next fortnight GVA will continue to vacate its City and Stratton Street premises. GVA retains a presence in Mayfair, with its West End teams having moved to a new office at 25 Berkeley Square last month. Meanwhile GVA’s City Agency team has sublet the 11,000 sq ft former premises at 80 Cheapside to Medallia, a software provider to the services sector.
