GVA Redilco attended “Logistics 2020 – The warehouse takes it all, again?” round table, held by Gazeley
November 28, 2019
During yesterday's inauguration of Gazeley’s new Italian headquarters, in the Via Broletto 16 office complex which was recently completely renovated and LEED Platinum certified, the roundtable entitled 'Logistics 2020 - The warehouse takes it all, again?' was held.

There is a continual increase in online stores and, in a country where e-commerce penetration is still very low compared to the European average, multiple growth opportunities exist and logistics must keep pace with this very significant potential for development.

Alfredo Mauri, Head of GVA Redilco's Logistics & Industrial Department, spoke about the evolution of lastmile logistics and the new challenges to be faced, which are also being reflected in the design of the layout of the buildings involved, as well as confirming the growing interest of prime global investors in last mile logistics.

The challenge, which has already begun - given the increasingly stringent legislation on land use - is that of the renewal and #conversion of disused brownfield assets. The fact that last mile logistics focuses on properties which are both smaller and more profitabile in rental terms has allowed developers to look at business plans for the conversion of abandoned buildings, which has until now been prohibitive due to the low rental levels or profitability of traditional logistics.
